FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is MoonVR?
MoonVR is an app that allows you to explore the lunar surface. It was created using real photos and video captured on the Moon by NASA astronauts during the late Apollo missions.
Why MoonVR?
Unlike other apps which use digital scenes (CGI), MoonVR features real 360° lunar imagery captured by astronauts on the Moon.
How do I install MoonVR?
MoonVR is now available the Google Play Store. Once available, the install will require 4.5MB of available storage on your device. The initial release will be for Android devices only. iOS versions are in development.
How much does it cost?
$1.99 USD per download/install. There are no ads, subscriptions and all future updates are free.
How do I use MoonVR?
After you touch down on the lunar surface, you may begin to navigate through a series of 360° lunar scenes.
Click on the icons (info, audio, photo, video) within each 360° to access historically accurate related images, audio recordings, and videos.
MoonVR requires a working internet connection at all times, so be mindful of your data usage (max. 100MB usage).
Do I need a VR headset?
You do not need a VR headset or any special equipment! MoonVR was designed to work on any Android smartphone or tablet.
Can I use a VR headset?
Yes! You can use your phone in conjunction with a compatible VR headset to access VR Mode. To switch on VR Mode, go to the settings menu in the bottom right corner of the app and click on the VR Headset icon. Follow the prompts to enable VR Mode.
Will there be future updates?
MoonVR is cloud-based, which allows me to implement free updates and grow the application over time. A bonus for future you! Once an update occurs, you won't have to pay anything, nor should you need to update/reinstall the app.
When is MoonVR available for iOS?
Possible release is June. The iOS version is under development at the moment. I create all of my content myself so it takes time. Thanks for your patience.
What should I do if MoonVR stops working?
MoonVR features high resolution imagery - which can take time to load. If the application freezes for more than 5 seconds or shows a blank screen, please close the app completely, and try opening it again.
If this doesn’t fix the issue, please contact me via email or on Twitter.

Pre-registration is available now on the Google Play Store.
Initial release on the Google Play Store for Android devices only. The iOS release date is yet to be determined (sorry).
There's a demo version available (link above) that showcases the beginning of MoonVR, as you land on the lunar surface alongside the astronauts of Apollo 15.
If you like the demo, you can submit your email using the form on this page, and I'll send you an email notification once the full version of MoonVR is available for download on the Google Play Store.
It took hundreds of hours to develop, test, and launch this application. Your support is sincerely appreciated and helps me create more amazing space-related content.
MoonVR will never feature any advertisements and I'll never steal or sell your data :)
